Construction and Materials

The LWA Series is designed to withstand abrasive conditions through the use of hardened materials in the hydraulic components. This series utilizes an agitator-assisted hydraulic design that continuously mixes settled solids into the pumped liquid. The agitator and volute are constructed from ductile iron for strength and wear resistance, while the impeller and wear plate are made from high-chrome iron to handle abrasive slurries.

This construction allows the pump to maintain durability while remaining lighter than traditional heavy-duty slurry pumps. The pump is capable of handling solids up to approximately 0.4 inches, making it suitable for sand, silt, and fine aggregate. The top discharge configuration enhances motor cooling and supports operation in shallow water levels.

Motor and Operational Design

The LWA Series is equipped with a high-speed 2-pole motor operating at approximately 3450 RPM, delivering strong performance in portable dewatering applications.

A jacketed motor design uses the pumped liquid for cooling, allowing for continuous operation in demanding conditions. Built-in thermal protection ensures safe operation by preventing overheating.
