How to Select the Right PumpCatalog Pump

Pump selection comes down to two numbers: flow rate (gallons per minute) and total dynamic head (the resistance your system puts up, measured in feet). Get those right and the rest falls into place.

PumpCatalog builds three main pump types, each suited to different jobs:

  • Centrifugal pumps (G, GA, GN, GB, DF series) are the workhorses for HVAC, circulation, and liquid transfer. Close-coupled, frame-mounted, and vertical inline options from 0.33 to 30 HP.
  • Regenerative turbine pumps (CS, CR, CT, EC/ED, ES, ET series) handle low-flow, high-head duties like boiler feed, condensate return, pressure maintenance, and chemical metering.
  • Self-priming pumps (WT, WA, WG, WPT, WST series) are the go-to when suction lift is involved: irrigation, dewatering, perc transfer, and petroleum solvent applications.

Use the selector above to match your requirements to the right PumpCatalog series. The built-in calculators can figure out TDH, check NPSH, and size the motor for you, all on this page.
