Overview

The QUANTM Hygienic Large Particle (LP) series is an electric-operated double diaphragm pump engineered to efficiently move line-sized solids while significantly reducing energy consumption. Utilizing the revolutionary XT direct-drive motor, the LP series is up to 80% more efficient than pneumatic alternatives and 50% more efficient than competitive electric technologies. This sealless design operates without compressed air, eliminating the noise and maintenance of traditional air valves while supporting facility-wide sustainability goals.

Performance & Reliability

Designed for the most demanding sanitary transfers, the LP series provides high throughput with models delivering up to 105 gpm at pressures up to 100 psi. It is uniquely capable of stalling under pressure, which prevents pump failure during line blockages or closed-valve scenarios without requiring complex external sensors. The self-priming, sealless architecture allows the pump to run dry indefinitely, protecting wetted components and maximizing uptime in bulk unloading applications.

Materials & Construction

The LP series features robust 316L Stainless Steel fluid sections with a 32 Ra micro-inch finish to ensure full regulatory compliance. The specialized flapper check valve design allows for the gentle passage of solids up to 3.8 inches (96.5 mm) in diameter without damaging sensitive ingredients. Hygienic integrity is maintained through overmolded diaphragm plates (PTFE fluid-side/EPDM air-side) that eliminate bacterial crevices, while the entire unit is IP66 wash-down rated for rigorous daily sanitation.

Motor & Controls

Advanced smart controls provide 8X more torque at low speeds than standard electric pumps, ensuring consistent flow for viscous materials. Operators can manually adjust speed and pressure via an integrated control knob, while an intelligent auto-prime feature manages the priming sequence automatically. For automated production, a standard I/O port enables remote start/stop and analog speed control through a plant PLC.

Installation & Serviceability

With a footprint similar to standard air-operated pumps, the LP series is a drop-in replacement for existing systems. It features a plug-and-play design with factory-wired voltage options for 120V, 240V, or 480V power. Maintenance is streamlined by a quick-knockdown design utilizing tri-clamp or DIN fluid connections, making it optimized for both Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Clean Out-of-Place (COP) procedures.
