AC+ pumps are the first significant improvement in the traditional “C Series” style of pumps in over a quarter century. Craft Brew Pump CB+ Series by Ampco Pumps Company

Ampco CB+ Craft Brew Pump features a sanitary internal seal design that will keep seal faces cooler and minimize product buildup. Dry running external mechanical seals on standard “C Series” style pumps is unavoidable when pumping wort at temperatures near boiling. Flashing will occur between seal faces causing premature seal wear and allow solids to build up between the faces resulting in leaking. The CB+ design minimizes these problems in several ways:

• The internal seal is submersed in the product to promote cooling.
• Pressure within the pump will create higher closing force on the balanced seal faces to minimize product buildup.
• The internal spring will help agitate the wort solids keeping them from pooling at the seal faces.

New CB+ pumps are hydraulically and dimensionally interchangeable with existing C Series pumps. There is no need to change piping or purchase a pump that costs twice as much. Ampco offers two CB+ conversion kits, allowing existing C Series and AC+ pumps to be converted to CB+ pumps.

• CB+1: Convert an Ampco AC+ pump to a CB+ simply by replacing the seal and backplate (CB+1 conversion kit).
• CB+2: Convert Ampco AC and competing C Series pumps with the CB+2 conversion kit.(includes backplate, seal, stub shaft, collar, o-ring, and impeller nut).

AMPCO ZP Positive Displacement Pumps

The ZP Series establishes a new standard of value, quality and features in the positive displacement pump market.

In 2010, Ampco introduced the ZP1 and ZP2 Series of positive displacement pumps. The ZP Series offers more standard features than competing pumps including a stainless steel gearcase. ZP1 and ZP2 Series pumps are part-for-part, 100% interchangeable with the competition.

Raising the bar in 2012 Ampco introduced the ZP3 Series. The patented ZP3 is fully CIP-able without modification or loss of efficiency. The front-loading seal design allows for fast and easy maintenance without removing process piping or the heavy fluid end. The unique rotor case design eliminates all dead zones within the pump making the ZP3 the only fully CIP-able choice in sanitary positive displacement pumps. The ZP3 is EHEDG certified; in conformance with 3A standards and the ATEX Directive.

Further advancing the traditional design features of positive displacement pumps Ampco introduced the patented ZP1+ Series, which is designed to allow o-ring seals to be changed without disconnecting the pump from the piping system. Both the ZP3 and ZP1+ set a new standard for sanitary processing. The entire ZP Series offers quality, enhanced features, value and proven performance.
